With the recent outbreak of mumps in Franklin and Delaware counties, you may want to check you and your children’s shot records, especially if you or they were born before 1987, as to whether the 2nd MMR was given. MMR is a combination vaccine for measles, mumps and rubeola. If you have not had the 2nd MMR, you first should check with your private insurance carrier for your out of pocket costs.
If you or your children are on medicaid, you can receive the 2nd MMR at the Kenton Hardin Health Department on Thursdays 8:30 A. through 4:00 P.M.
If you have questions about this, please call the health department at 419-673-6230, option 2 or your health care provider.
